3. The Court has given careful consideration to the Union's
submission and to the statement from the liquidator. The Court
also understands the legal position within which the liquidator
must carry out his functions.

Nevertheless the Court is of the view that the workers here
concerned should be considered for compensation above the
statutory amount and accordingly recommends payment at a rate of 2
weeks' pay per year of service over and above statutory redundancy
entitlements.

SUBJECT:

BACKGROUND:
2. With reference to the Labour Court hearing on 8th January,
1988 concerning the above the Court's recommendation is as
follows.

RECOMMENDATION:
3. The Court has given careful consideration to the Union's
submission and to the statement from the liquidator. The Court
also understands the legal position within which the liquidator
must carry out his functions.
