This dispute concerns a claim by Ms. Deirdre Nelson that the Boxing Union of Ireland discriminated against her on grounds of sex within the meaning of section 2(a) of the Employment Equality Act, 1977 and in contravention of section 5 of that Act, when she was prevented from boxing on a professional basis in the Republic of Ireland as a result of the actions of the President of the Boxing Union of Ireland.
