The dispute concerns a claim by Ms Kathleen Burke that in June, 1998 the National University of Ireland, Galway (the College) discriminated against her within the meaning of Section 2(a), (b) and (c) of the Employment Equality Act, 1977 and in contravention of Section 3 of that Act when it failed to facilitate her request to job-share in her post as Assistant Librarian in the Information Section of the College Library.
