File No. EE2002/005-014

Date of Issue 18/12/2002

Employment Equality Act, 1998 Sections 7 and 19 - Employment - Equal Pay - Public Holidays

The complainants are employed as Control Operators in the Munster Regional Communications Centre. One of the named male comparators is employed by the respondent as a Firefighter while the other is employed as a General Operative. According to the Union a higher multiplier is used by the respondent to calculate Public Holiday pay for the named male comparators than that which is used for the female complainants. The Union, on behalf of the complainants, requests that the higher multiplier be applied to them and in this regard is seeking equal pay with the named male comparators.
