Voluntary Dispute Resolution Process - verification of Trade Union Membership

ADVISORY SERVICES DIVISION 9 March 2007 - On a number of occasions since the introduction of the Enhanced Code of Practice on Voluntary Dispute Resolution in 2004 (SI 76 of 2004) the Advisory Service has been asked by employers to verify that a trade union had members in their enterprises before agreeing to engage in the process facilitated by the Service.

LRC Continues Efforts to Resolve Shannon Airport Dispute

CONCILIATION SERVICES DIVISION 16 March 2007 - The LRC this week continued its fresh initiative to assist the parties in Shannon Airport to find a resolution to the issues arsing from the company's proposals for restructuring. The Commission's current intervention follows a rejection by the trade unions of a position tabled by the company in early December 2006.

LRC Offers Training Services

ADVISORY SERVICES DIVISION 18 April 2007 - The LRC provides a limited training and development service to meet the needs of service users as identified by individual organisations. The training is provided free of charge and on site in various organisations throughout the country. Programmes are delivered both on a stand-alone basis or as a module in an organisation's own training programme.

2006 A Record Year for Referrals to LRC

The Labour Relations Commission announced record levels of referrals to its Rights Commissioner Service in 2006, up 28% on 2005 figures, at the launch of its Annual Report in Dublin today by Mr Tony Killeen, Minister for Labour Affairs.
