Employment Dispute Resolution and Standard-setting in the Republic of Ireland

The LRC, in conjunction with the NCPP, launched a seminal study on "Employment Dispute Resolution and Standard-setting in the Republic of Ireland" on 24th June 2008.

The study analysed the capacities and capabilities of Irelands’ statutory dispute resolution bodies:

  • The Labour Relations Commission
  • The Labour Court
  • The Equality Tribunal
  • The Employment Appeals Tribunal
  • The Labour Inspectorate / NERA
  • The Health and Safety Authority

The study was undertaken by Professor Paul Teague, Queens University Belfast and Dr. Damian Thomas, NCPP and published by Oaktree Press.

In the context of international companies, the study benchmarks the Irish dispute resolution against the Canadian, UK and Swedish models of dispute resolution.
